Art stimulates, makes you curious, it invites you to think. When you look at a work of art, and sometimes you can hear, feel or even smell it, you automatically start to reflect on it: you think something of it (beautiful or ugly, for example), it might raise questions (what is it made of? who is the maker?) or intense emotions (such as nostalgia). Reflecting helps to process and understand what you perceive, and is an essential part of learning. In this age of lifelong learning, art can play an important role.
It is therefore not surprising that artists often try to convey a certain message with their work or encourage people to think about topics that they consider socially relevant, such as nature conservation and the political situation in a country. Artists use their work to learn new things by experimenting with different materials, new technologies and various creative processes. They also use art to learn more about themselves, for example in the search for their identity or heritage, or in the exploration of their own psyche. For both the artist and the viewer, art is an excellent means of reflection on feelings and emotions. For example, art can help to express difficult or sensitive topics and open them up for discussion.
Art is ideally suited to reflect together and learn from each other. Individually or with others, learning through art is also just fun, because art is relaxing, fascinating and surprising!
This exhibition features a varied selection of works from all artists associated with Readytex Art Gallery. You are cordially invited to come and reflect, alone or together with others, to learn something, but above all to enjoy it!
The exhibition is open from October 4 until November 2, from Monday until Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and on Saturday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
