Readytex Art Gallery, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator and visual artist Kurt Nahar are excited to announce that the artist has been selected to participate in the 2024 Elementos de Arte Erótico Exhibition. The exhibit produced by the Panama Erotic Art Collective, is scheduled for 15-24 February 2024 at the Galería Juan Manuel Cedeño in Casco Viejo, Panama City. The much-anticipated show will coincide with Panama’s Carnival, the 2nd largest celebration in the world, and promises to attract erotic art enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs worldwide.
Kurt Nahar, whose work often includes sexual language, imagery, subjects, and objects, is a perfect candidate to contribute to the narrative of this exhibition. And while his sexually oriented works are occasionally a critical commentary on related issues of power and abuse, most of them express his own view of and fascination with sexuality and eroticism, and the ways in which it is experienced and expressed across societies and cultures. In addition to works by artists from Panama, the USA, Belize and Guadeloupe, the exhibition Elementos de Arte Erótico will include three artworks by Kurt Nahar.
Show curator & co-event producer, Kim M. Mendoza said, “The focus of 2024 Elementos de Arte Erótico Exhibición, our first artistic erotic experience, is “The Earth” element. This new exhibition will re-introduce sensual expression by synchronizing the earth’s elements with the divine human experience of sexuality. These selected artists will present works in various mediums: painting, sculpture, digital art, literary art, photography, and mixed media.”
The Panama Erotic Art Collective, comprised of American Expats and Panamanians, is dedicated to awakening the erotic art expression in Panama, a cultural hub for Central America. The Collective is collaborating with Antonio Singh, who curated the Espacio Arte Chiriquí exhibit for the last four years. The group plans to extend the Panama City exhibit to Chiriquí immediately following Carnival along with a virtual gallery presentation.
