 | Ron Flu: majestic caricatures of struggle of life and happiness
Ron Flu’s works are majestic caricatures, a dramatic, realistic, expressive and ironic social protest for Surinamese situations in bright colored oil paintings. South American situations are portrayed: the attacks on the rainforest and the tribes that live there, prostitution or the narco riche. The paintings reveal a passionate involvement with the struggling of people and the Amazon tribes. Street life is sometimes revealed, or in a strange magical and mythical way women, or the inner struggle of a man. Ron Flu also has paintings that show happier, uncomplicated sides of life, beautiful half naked women with round breasts and hips in relaxed positions, indigenous women in nature, or women in tight cocktail dresses, dancing. His socially involved as well as his simpler themes have one thing in common; they are created by an impressive and true master from the Caribbean!
