His art is a mission, a task to raise consciousness. While most Surinamese artists show the many goods sides of Suriname, Kurt Nahar is fully prepared to show the bad and the ugly. In his ten feet installations, pen on paper, mix media of photo, paint, textile on canvas, or burnt antique, it’s all about protest or a justified alarm.
